The Government takes the threat from all types of fraud, including identity fraud seriously and recognises the devastating impacts frauds can have on victims. Frauds are often facilitated by the misuse of personal details acquired lawfully or otherwise.

We have set up the Joint Fraud Taskforce to bring together industry, law enforcement and government to tackle fraud in a truly collaborative way, harnessing our collective powers and resources to make it much more difficult for fraudsters to operate. This includes educating the public on steps they can take to protect their personal details. The joint public / private Take Five to Stop Fraud awareness campaign provides practical tips individuals can do to protect their personal details from use by criminals.
