Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will provide funding for a new Halton Hospital; and if he will make a statement.

Warrington and Halton NHS Foundation Trust’s bid for a ‘Hospital and Wellbeing Campus in Halton’ was unsuccessful in the latest round of sustainability and transformation partnerships (STP) capital allocations. This latest round of bids was heavily over-subscribed against the remaining funding.

This was the last planned round of STP capital allocations in advance of the Spending Review and any further funding rounds will be dependent on the outcome of Spending Review later this year, which will set departments’ overall capital budgets in future years.
