Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, whether immigration detainees have access to free independent interpreting services during appointments with medical staff in immigration removal centres.

All those detained in Immigration Removal Centres have access to independent interpreting services. These services are commissioned by the Ministry of Justice and are available to all staff in Immigration Removal Centres, including the healthcare staff, as required.
