Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what discussions his Department has had with the Local Government Association on improving standards of (a) electrical and (b) gas safety in the private rented sector and on preventing fires caused by either energy source in that sector.

We regularly discuss a range of issues with the Local Government Association, including those relating to property standards and fire prevention in the private rented sector.
