Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if he will conduct an investigation into the compliance of Uber with regulations for the operation of taxi firms and the licensing of individual taxi drivers.

While Government is responsible for the overall legislative framework governing taxis and private hire vehicles, responsibility for ensuring that Uber complies with all relevant licensing requirements rests with local licensing authorities.
