Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what steps his Department has taken to ensure the consistency of the application process for personal independence payments with his Department's duties under the Equality Act 2010.

As part of the development and design of Personal Independence Payment the Department analysed the likely impacts on protected groups, including disabled people as required by the Equality Act. The DWP published an impact assessment and equality impact assessment on the reform of DLA in May 2012. Equality impact assessments conducted in respect of PIP are available at
