Slaughterhouses: CCTV

Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, if she will take steps alongside the food industry to institute a voluntary code for installing CCTVs in slaughter houses.
This question was answered on 5th November 2014
The Government is currently awaiting the report of the Farm Animal Welfare Committee which is looking into the effectiveness of CCTV and other monitoring and verification procedures in slaughterhouses. We will look at options in the light of that report.
