Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment he has made of the potential effect of the UK leaving the EU without a withdrawal agreement on risks to life.

We do not want or expect a no deal outcome. However, a responsible government should prepare for all potential outcomes. That is why the Home Office is coordinating the preparation of robust contingency plans.

With that in mind, we are working closely with operational partners - including the police - on contingency planning so we can ensure the safety and security of our citizens in all scenarios.
