To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether the Chancellor of the Exchequer (a) accepted and (b) paid back a severance payment following his resignation as Defence Secretary.

Under the Ministerial and Other Pensions and Salaries Act 1991, Ministers aged 65 and older are not entitled to a severance payment.
