The Quality and Outcomes Framework has been collating data on the number of adults aged 17 years and older who have been diagnosed with diabetes and are on general practice diabetes registers. In 2005 there were 1,766,391 adults aged 17 years and older with diagnosed diabetes on general practice registers. In 2013 this number was 2,703,044.
