The Permanent Secretary commissioned an Independent Investigation to determine what material the Department had received in respect of child sexual abuse, including any from Geoffrey Dickens. Copies of the Executive Summary of that review and the Terms of Reference were deposited in the House Library on 31 July 2013. On 7 July the Home Secretary announced that Peter Wanless would lead a review into this investigation under the Terms of Reference that have been agreed, a copy of which is available in the House Library. The review is expected to conclude within 8-10 weeks and a full report of the review report will be published.
