Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what methodology is used by his Department to assess the comparative costs and benefits of the Access to Work scheme.

The Department's approach to the social cost-benefit analysis of employment programmes is outlined in DWP Working Paper No. 86 (available via https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/214384/WP86.pdf). The Department is currently considering the extent to which this methodology can be applied to Access to Work.
