Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to his comments on the BBC's Newsnight on 17 December 2018 on buying refrigerators in which to store stockpiled medicines in the event of the UK leaving the EU without a deal, where those refrigerators are located.

In October, as part of the Department’s ‘no deal’ European Union exit contingency planning, a tender process to secure the provision of additional warehouse space for stockpiled medicines covering ambient, cold chain and controlled drug storage was undertaken. Contract agreements for the procurement of storage, including refrigerated storage have recently been signed. These contracts cover additional storage capacity at various locations in the United Kingdom.
