Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether she plans to introduce legislative proposals to help reduce food waste.

Environment Act 2021 amendments to the Environmental Protection Act 1990 will require all local authorities in England to arrange for the separate collection of food waste for recycling. If citizens can see how much food waste they are producing then they are more likely to take preventive action.
