Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, whether the UK Government is assisting Australian authorities on ensuring the safe return of Bahraini footballer, Hakeem AlAraibi, who has been granted refugee status in Australia and risks being deported to Bahrain.

We are aware that Hakeem Al-Araibi is currently in immigration detention in Thailand. This is a matter for the Governments of Thailand, Bahrain and Australia.
