The voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector plays a vital role in suicide prevention and supporting people at risk of suicide.

Between 2023 and 2025, the Department funded the Suicide Prevention Grant Fund, which supported voluntary and community sector organisations to deliver suicide prevention initiatives for higher-risk groups. The programme included evaluation of funded projects to improve understanding of effective approaches and inform future policy development. We will continue to engage closely with those organisations, and use learning from their programmes, to support delivery of the Suicide Prevention Strategy.
