Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, when he last met representatives of the government of Somaliland.

I met President Silanyo of Somaliland and other Somaliland Ministers in London in October 2014, at the UK-Somaliland Trade & Investment Forum, where I discussed Somaliland’s economic growth, political landscape, security, and development co-operation. HMG officials regularly meet members of the Somaliland Government and work closely with them on shared objectives. The British Ambassador to Somalia most recently visited Hargeisa in late May and met President Silanyo.
