Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to the October 2018 policy paper The future of healthcare: our vision for digital, data and technology in health and care, what estimate his Department has made of the cost to the public purse of meeting national open standards for data, interoperability, privacy and confidentiality, real-data access, cyber security and access.

We have not yet made any such estimate.

Digital transformation and technology services in the health and care system are currently funded through a combination of revenue and capital funding from central and National Health Service budgets. We envisage that this model will continue, with funding drawn from the next Spending Review and NHS resources identified in the NHS Long Term Plan.
