Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, with reference to her recent appearance on BBC News at 12.53pm on 11 October 2018, what the evidential basis is for her statement that one million disabled people will get significantly more on universal credit.

DWP’s internal analysis based on Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) figures, and applied to a fully rolled out position shows that 1 million people will receive an increase of £110 per month from Universal Credit.

Our figures reflect that there are disabled claimants on other benefits or currently receiving no benefit, and also that the final Universal Credit rollout date has subsequently changed since the OBR report.
