Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether he has had discussions with his Australian counterpart on the Australian Government's proposed Treasury Laws Amendment (Mutual Entities) Bill; and if he will make a statement.

HM Treasury has had no discussions with the Australian Government on the proposed Treasury Laws Amendment (Mutual Entities) Bill.

The Government remains committed to supporting co-operatives, credit unions, building societies and other mutual legal forms as part of a diverse and resilient economy which offers choice to consumers.
