Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, when he plans to respond to the Joint Committee on Human Rights' inquiry into Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards; and if he will make a statement.
This question was answered on 9th October 2018
The Mental Capacity (Amendment) Bill was introduced into Parliament in July 2018 and the Bill has been published on the Parliament website. This implements the Law commission recommendations.
The Government will provide a response to the Joint Committee of Human Rights report in due time.
