Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many times his Department met the Office for Civil Society at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport ahead of launching its public consultation on its plans to make it illegal to sell energy drinks to children under 16 or under 18; and when those meetings took place.

The Department has not yet met with officials from the Office for Civil Society about the consultation on ending the sale of energy drinks to children. However, officials are in regular discussion with colleagues at the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to explore how we can work together to improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people, including through the youth voice proposals published in the Civil Society Strategy.
