We are committed to improving diversity in all its sectors - particularly in the media - which should reflect everyone in society, including those with visible differences. The department provides regular support and encouragement to media organisations and to initiatives like Project Diamond which work in support of this goal. This includes through discussion with BBC and Channel 4, private sector broadcasters and with Ofcom who have a duty to ensure broadcasters are fulfilling their obligations to promote equal opportunities.
