Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment has his Department made on the effect of self-testing sexual health kits on (a) 16-24 year olds and (b) high risk populations receiving holistic support for their sexual health.

No formal assessment has been made of the impact of self-testing kits on holistic care in England.

Public Health England (PHE) and local authorities support the delivery of HIV and chlamydia self-sampling.

PHE guidance to local authorities on self-sampling for chlamydia screening services specify the essential components of good quality care and the need to ensure that patients are provided with appropriate support and advice. Further information is available at the following link:
