The Government is working closely with companies to understand their concerns ahead of leaving the EU, and alongside industry will invest almost £4 billion for R&D by 2026 to ensure the UK remains a world leader in civil aerospace. Airbus is extremely important to the success of the UK and the Scottish economy. The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy works closely with Airbus and other businesses around the UK in carrying out analysis. According to the latest data we hold that was published in June 2017, Airbus contributes over £540m to the Scottish economy and accounts for around 8,000 jobs both directly and indirectly.
