Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what steps he has taken to urge the Bahraini regime to allow the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture immediate, unrestricted and continued access to the country.

As part of our continuing open dialogue, we encourage Bahrain, and more than 100 other countries, to ratify the Optional Convention Against Torture, and to improve their relationship with the various bodies of the UN system.
