Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assessment he has made of the implications for human rights and the rule of law in Turkey of the re-election of President Erdogan.

​Following the re-election of President Erdogan on 24 June, we continue to expect Turkey to ensure full adherence to its international human rights obligations and to the maintenance of the rule of law. We will continue to work in close partnership with Turkey, and to raise these important issues in our bilateral discussions.
