Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he if he will increase the length of the statutory notice period for care home operators informing local authorities of their intention to close.
This question was answered on 7th March 2023
There is no statutory notice period for care home operators to inform local authorities of their intention to close. It is for local authorities to decide whether to include any notice period in contracts for services with providers.
