Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what the average payment of Support for Mortgage Interest to an individual was in 2017-18.

The Department has not yet collated statistics for the entirety of 2017/18 on payments for Support for Mortgage Interest (SMI); however, based on the first three quarters of that year, the Department estimates that the average payment of SMI per claim was around £28 per week.
