Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether the Government has made a recent assessment of the potential merits of the introduction of all-postal voting in local elections.

No assessment has been made of the use of all-postal voting since the need to provide personal identifiers was introduced in the Electoral Administration Act 2006. Unless personal identifiers are held for every elector, all-postal voting cannot be utilised.
