Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to section 37 of the Local Government Act 2000, whether his Department monitors the written constitutions of each local authority.

The Department neither has records of, nor monitors, local authority constitutions which are for each council to adopt, maintain, and make publicly available, as required by the Local Government Act 2000.
