Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what funding he plans to make available from the Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy to increase the use of electric bikes.

The Government’s £1.2 billion Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy outlines the significant investment that is being made to support cycling of all kinds, including cycling on electrically assisted pedal cycles (or “e-bikes”). The Government agrees that e-bikes have significant potential to increase the overall amount of cycling, and the Strategy will help increase the use of both conventional bikes and e-bikes.
