Breast Cancer: Screening

Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to oral statement of 2 May 2018, Official Report, column 315, on Breast Cancer Screening, what steps his Department are taking to ensure that the additional screenings offered to women affected by the failure will not affect the (a) speed and (b) quality of the provision of screening to women aged between 50 and 70 years of age.

Any additional capacity being provided in response to this incident is being delivered in addition to existing capacity. The screening service for women aged 50-70 will continue to be delivered in the usual way.
