Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what steps the Government is taking to make people aware of debt relief orders and to assist people to understand and access them.

The Insolvency Service GOV.UK web page provides guidance on debt relief options, including debt relief orders. This includes an interactive tool explaining some of the debt relief options and a specific guide to getting a debt relief order. The Insolvency Service works in partnership with the debt advice sector in delivering debt relief orders which are accessed through an authorised debt advisor who will complete the application with the individual applicant.
