Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what guidance his Department provides to employers on supporting employees who return to work after a period of mental illness.

The Department commissions NHS Employers to provide advice, guidance and good practice to employers on all aspects of improving the physical and mental health and wellbeing of their staff. This includes “supporting staff with mental health problems”¹ which includes a “return to work” section.
