Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, how many staff were employed by the Environment Agency (a) directly, (b) on a contracted basis and (c) on a subcontracted basis in each of the last eight years.
The table below shows the number of staff employed by the Environment Agency (a) directly and (b) on a contracted basis at 31 March in each of the last eight years. Numbers of subcontracted staff are not recorded centrally.
