Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what steps her Department is taking to work with police forces to reduce the risk to pedestrians and motorists during high-speed police persuits.

The Home Office is undertaking a review of the law, guidance and practice surrounding police pursuits and response driving.

As well as seeking the views of other Government departments, the police, the Independent Office for Police Conduct and the Crown Prosecution Service, we have also engaged with those representing other road users to make sure the review reflects the needs of all those affected. The outcome of this review will be completed in due course.
