Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to NHS England's Next steps on the NHS Five Year Forward View, published in March 2017, what progress his Department has made on embedding an additional 800 mental health therapists in primary care by March 2018.

Work is currently underway within NHS Digital to improve the National Workforce Data Set including improving information provision about the Psychologist and Psychological Therapies workforce. Changes to relevant systems should be in place by summer 2018 and NHS Digital should be in a position to begin reporting before the end of 2018.
