Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what discussions his Department has had with the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy on extending the remit of the Groceries Code Adjudicator to cover indirect suppliers.

Ministers and officials from both departments worked closely on the Government response to the Call for Evidence on extending the remit of the Groceries Code Adjudicator. In our response, published on 16 February, we set out a range of measures to help farmers and small producers compete and thrive alongside larger businesses in the food supply chain.
