Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether the usage of the Severn Tunnel Junction will be considered when the (a) Cross Country and (b) Great Western franchise agreements are drawn up.

The department will consider the usage of the Severn Tunnel Junction when specifying the requirements for the next Great Western Direct Award and Cross Country franchise. A public consultation for the Great Western franchise is already under way, inviting views on future priorities and this closes on 21 February 2018. We will be consulting on the future Cross Country franchise in due course.
