The immunisation programme is demand-led and the Department does not allocate a fixed budget.

Funding for vaccination programmes (both the cost of vaccines and administering those vaccines) were estimated up to 2020/21 as part of the Department’s 2015 Spending Review process. These estimates are not confirmed allocations of funds and are updated on an ongoing basis to take account of expert advice as well as factors that affect the overall cost of the programme such as changes in demand, pricing and vaccines offered.
