Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if he will make further resources available to support people working in the taxi and private hire sector move to electric vehicles, in addition to the Plug-In Grant Scheme.

We have set aside £50 million to support the Plug-in Taxi Grant (PiTG) programme. This PiTG will give licensed taxi drivers up to £7,500 off the price of a new vehicle. We are also investing £14 million to deliver new dedicated chargepoints for electric taxis in 10 council areas. Additionally, the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) is available for eligible taxi drivers who are able to charge at home overnight.
