Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, pursuant to the Answer of 21 December 2017 to Question 120176, how the Department measures and defines a global leadership position.

There is no single measure through which a ‘global leadership’ position will be determined. To measure the success of the Industrial Strategy, the White Paper announced the creation of the Industrial Strategy Council. This will be formed by a group of independent experts that will develop a series of success measures to help determine the success of the delivery of the strategy against our stated goals.
