Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment has been made of the potential merits of using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatment to alleviate post-traumatic stress disorder.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) responds to a variety of effective treatments. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatment is recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as an effective treatment for individuals with PTSD where symptoms have been present for more than three months after a trauma.
