Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) responds to a variety of effective treatments. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing treatment is recognised by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as an effective treatment for individuals with PTSD where symptoms have been present for more than three months after a trauma.
