The Secretary of State for International Development has not yet had the opportunity to discuss China’s role with counterparts. Other government ministers, including the Chancellor, have held regular discussions with Chinese counterparts on global economic and financial issues, including at the UK-China Economic and Financial Dialogue in December 2017. These have included China’s place in the multilateral development system and how the UK and China can work together on development finance standards.
