Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what the cost to the public purse for each combined authority in each year since those authorities were established has been.

The cost of combined authorities’ functions is met by their constituent local authorities. In addition, the government is backing all six city region mayors and their combined authorities with a targeted capacity fund, worth £6 million per year across the six areas for the next two years, to help them deliver their priorities.
