Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 27 October 2020 to Question 105623, when he plans to announce a decision on the Arundel chord rail connection.

A bid was made to the second round of the Restoring Your Railway Ideas Fund to restore the Arundel Chord. We announced outcomes for bids to Round 2 on the 25^th November 2020 and feedback was provided in writing to sponsoring MPs. Our discussion and assessment found that while this proposal may be suitable for Ideas Funding in principle, the case needs strengthening. Officials in the Department are able to render assistance to scheme sponsors going forward.
