Earlier in 2017, the Government announced an additional £2 billion of funding for local authorities to help reduce short-term pressures and improve the stability of the social care system. The Government has also committed to publishing a Green Paper, by summer 2018, setting out proposals for reform of adult social care, which will include social care for people with dementia. This Green Paper will focus on care for older people, addressing the challenges of our ageing population, bringing forward proposals for consultation to build widespread support.
