‘Implementing the Five Year Forward View for Mental Health’ (NHS England, 2016) sets out the planned expenditure for additional cash term funding for mental health through to 2020/21.

In addition to this, NHS England tracks total outturn mental health expenditure for clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and for specialised commissioning. For future years, the Department expects CCG spending to continue to rise at a higher rate than overall CCG allocations, in line with the Mental Health Investment Standard.
