In accordance with The Crown Estate Act 1961, The Crown Estate is a body independent of government and the Monarch. The Crown Estate operates commercially at arm’s length from the Treasury. The Chancellor has therefore not made an estimate of the potential effect of the UK leaving the EU on the value of The Crown Estate’s assets.
